For the first time in Windward's 99 year history, we entered an Under 17 Junior team in a T20 tournament. Having had a bye last week, our boys had their first taste of action on Sunday when they faced the ProSales Ittihad Juniors team. Winning the toss and opting to bat, Windward ran up a score of 136/7 in 20 overs with Elon Davis scoring 40, Jed Joseph 32, Kajay Sealy 23 not out and Niyim Joseph making 17 runs, with ProSales bowlers Z.Nana taking 3/25 and M. Jami 2/13. The WCC lads then took to the field and held the visiting team to a score of 91/9 in their 20 overs with a very strong bowling attack. Batting for ProSales, U. Jami made 33 not out and Y. Meny 15, with Windward bowlers Anthony Alleyne taking 3/15, Jaiden Joseph 2/16, Joshua Branch 1/4, Shaquan Bramble 1/5, Elon Davis 1/6, Jed Joseph 1/21 and Jelani Joseph 1/22. Their next match is scheduled for February 2nd when the travel to play the Desmond Haynes Young Lions at the Desmond Haynes Oval in Black Rock.
