The Novel Sports supported Windward Under 13 cricket team travelled to Passage Road on Sunday to play the Passage Juniors at midday. Winning the toss, the Lucas Street Lads opted to bat first, with Captain Alex Armstrong and Michael-Andre Cossey opening for the visitors. Cossey was bowled in the 11th over, having made 14 runs from 29 balls faced. He was replaced by Shai Thorne, who along with Armstrong punished the Passage Juniors bowling, with Thorne making 147 off 77 balls, and Armstrong 116 off 88. Windward ended their innings with an impressive 329/1 from 35 overs.
Opening the bowling for the Windward Juniors was John Massiah who has been part of the junior program for 7 years and ended his spell with a respectable economy of 5.60 from 5 overs. Armstrong’s bowling once again proved devastating, with him taking 3 wickets for 16 runs from 5 overs, while Keinan Rudder and Rajay Greaves rounded out the wicket takers for Windward, who held the home side to 233/5 in 35 overs.The Under 13’s next play the CCL Colts on Sunday from midday at Bennetts.
