The Sagicor Life supported Windward Under 13 team, played The Line & Length CrickMechanic Academy on Sunday February 23rd at Lucas Street. Winning the toss, WCC opted to field first, and opened the bowling with Jershaun Joseph who gave up 13 runs and took 1 wicket in the 3 overs he had with the ball and Kai Shepherd who only allowed 2 runs while taking 1 wicket in his 3 overs. Team captain Josh Branch bowled 5 overs taking 2 wickets and allowing 6 runs, while team mate Dhaniram Dharamdeo bowled 3 maiden overs, allowing only 9 runs in the 5 overs he bowled. When the 35th over was completed, the Cricksters had amassed a respectable 119 runs for 7 wickets in just over 2 hours. After tea, Rio Armstrong and Max Symes opened the batting for the home side, with Armstrong making 3 runs off the 21 balls he faced when he was bowled by M. Marshall, bringing Kai Shepherd to the crease. Symes was next to lose his wicket when he was bowled by R. Parsooram having made 1 run off 23 balls. Shepherd was now joined by Branch, and the pair settled in to deal with the task at hand, and spent the next 39 minutes getting the required runs to win. Shepherd ended the day on 26 not out, while man of the match, Branch, hit four 4's on his way to making 35 runs off of 29 balls. The WCC lads next match is on Sunday March 1st against Northern Cricket Academy at Mahaica ground in Speightstown.
