Windward's 1st division side travelled to Lowlands, St. Lucy to face Lords in the opening round of the BCA T20 Cup Tournament. Losing the toss and being invited to bat under sunny skies, Windward openers, Kastun Stoute and Jafari Toppin wasted no time in putting runs on the board, having carried the score to 44 early in the 5th over when Stoute was caught by Leroy Johnson off the bowling of Lords captain, Azar Holligan. Stoute made 24 runs from 12 balls faced. Tennyson Roach Jr. joined Toppin in the middle, and the pair had a 91 run partnership, taking the score to 135/2 when Roach was bowled by Najee Holder at the end of the 13th over. Latrell Greenidge replaced Roach but was back in the pavilion just four balls later, the score now 140/3. Windward's skipper, Rico Wiggins joined Toppin, who was now on 54, and the pair added a further 42 runs, taking the score to 182/4 with three overs remaining in the innings. Shakeem Blades would add 21 runs to the score as he supported the inform Toppin, who ended the day with 107 not out, hitting six 4s and eight 6s along the way, as Windward closed the innings on 221/4.

Opening the bowling for the Lucas Street lads was Matthew Alleyne, whose spin bowling proved difficult for the Lords openers, but it was Jonathan Griffith's pace that took the first wicket in the second over, when Leroy Johnson was caught by Rashoun Archer, off his bowling, the score just 5/1. Archer would feature in the next wicket, this time bowling Ezra O'neale at the end of the 7th over with score now 61/2. Blades would take the next wicket when Stoute caught Holligan 5 overs later, with just 22 runs having been added to the score. Windward new comer, Rachid O'neale, would take the next two wickets, first bowling Romario Griffith on the first ball of the 15th over, then having Romario Reid caught and bowled three balls later, the scoreboard now showing 97/5 with 5 overs remaining. Rico Wiggins would take the next wicket three balls later when Deshawn Toppin was dismissed leg before wicket with 2 more runs added to the score. Lords would end their innings on 134/7, giving Windward the win by 87 runs.
