On Saturday afternoon, our defending champion Inter-club tennis team traveled to the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex in Wildey, to play The Tennis Center side. In the women's doubles sets Brandy Hayes and Danielle Cupid beat the pair of Marvo Jemmott and Tachina Jordan by a score of 9 games to 3. Kath Ward and Sue Rogers also came out on top of their opponents, Roseanne Kind and Margo Thompson, beating them 9 games to 1. In the Men's Doubles matches, brothers Matthew and Gavin Hutchinson beat
Akeem Gustave and Christian Maxwell by a score of 9 games to 5, while team mates Jonathan Walcott and Rick Taurel were victorious over Junior King and Kenton Gamble, beating them 9 games to 5. Richard Marsh and Lance Castagne-Clermont finished off the mens sweep, beating the pair of Russel Ruck and Roger Millar 9 games to 2. The mixed doubles teams were equally successful, with husband and wife team of Andrew and Lee-Anne Thornton winning their game against the father and daughter duo of Lloyd and Cherise Slocumb 9 games to 7, while Matthew Walcott teamed up with Kristina Evelyn to beat Adam and Asha King 9 games to 5. Windward won the match 63 to 28 and now lead the tournament and will play Summerhayes at Windward on Saturday February 29th and 2:30pm.
