Second Division Captain, Andrew Thornton made 28 not out on the day, against Ipswich.

With the match start delayed by an hour and a half due to wet field conditions from early morning rains, skipper Andrew Thornton opted to put his team into field upon winning the toss. Taurean Best opened the bowling for the Sagicor supported side, and allowed just 4 runs in his first over, two in his next and 4 in his final over when he bowled opening batsman Kemar Hood for 10 runs. Attacking from the northern end was Andrew Lythcott who took the first wicket of the innings in the second over, when opener Shawn Smith was caught by WCC vice-captain, Dindial Ramrattan, having made 4 runs. Lythcott went on to take the wicket of Roland Husbands in the 6th over, catching the drive after the delivery, the score on 19/3. The evergreen Winston Chase, and Dindial Ramrattan struggled somewhat during their three overs with the ball, Chase allowing 22 runs, while Ramrattan gave up 23. P.J Rodriguez took the final wicket of the innings, when Stefan Holder was caught by Lamar Springer in the 13th over, having made 40 runs in the 10 overs he faced and Ipswich managing 113/4 in the 16 overs played.

Opening the batting for the green and gold were Niyim Joseph and Kai Rollins, the latter hitting a four on the third ball he faced, and continued to swing for the boundary, racking up 18 runs from 15 balls when caught in the 5th over with 23 runs on the scoreboard. Best joined Joseph at centre briefly, as Joseph was returned to the clubhouse a few balls later, having made 5 runs from 16 balls, bringing Lamar Springer to the crease. Best was next to go, having been caught by Browne and making a single run from the 5 balls he faced, bringing Tony Edgehill to join Springer in the middle. Edgehill was sent packing shortly after having made just a single run off the 8 balls faced, with the score now 34/4 in 9 overs. Andrew Thornton joined Springer on the pitch, and the pair set about trying to reduce the deficit. Springer hit three 6's and made 24 runs from 27 balls before being bowled by Grant in the 14th over with the score now 78/5 with 2 overs remaining and Rodriguez joining Thornton at centre briefly, before he was run out with the score having advanced to 81/6. Kemar Carter replaced Rodriguez and tried his best to add some more runs to the board in the short time remaining, running in three runs on his second ball faced and ending the day with 5 runs not out from 8 balls, and Thornton having an impressive 28 not out from 19 balls. Windward lost the match by 24 runs, having managed to make 89/6 in their 16 overs. They play their final match of the season on Saturday October 10th when Brereton come to visit.
