Windward’s Second Division travelled to Society, St. John to play The Lodge School on Saturday, where they beat the school boys by 128 runs. Winning the toss and electing to bat, Captain Lamar Springer selected Glenmar Hinds and Alan Branch to open the batting of the Guys in Green & Gold. Hinds quickly got into the groove, hitting three 6’s and two 4’s on his way to making 27 runs from 9 deliveries, when he was caught by Liam Sealy off the bowling Josiah Bushelle in the 4th over with the score on 44/1, bringing Elon Davis to join Branch in the middle. Davis was soon returned to the pavilion when he was caught and bowled by Trevon Bryan in the following over, Davis having made just 2 runs. Replacing Davis was Lamar Springer who added a further 27 runs to the board before being caught by Anderson Sealy in the 7th over, handing batting duties to Ronnico Ross. Ross and Branch had a 62 run partnership lasting 6 overs when Branch was declared LBW at the start of the 14th over having made 39 runs from 32 balls and bringing in Kai Rollins with the score on 140/4. Rollins and Ross enjoyed a 30 run partnership that ended when Ross was bowled by Macaiah Harewood, having made 47 runs from 28 balls and bringing Kemar Carter in to join Rollins. Carter was next to be returned to the pavilion when he was bowled by Trevon Bryan at the start of the last over with the score 197/6. Rollins would be the last Windward batsman to lose his wicket when he was caught out having 43 runs to his credit. Windward would end their innings on 208/7 in 20 overs.
Play resumed with Henry Inniss and Shakobi Gittens opening the batting for The Lodge School, and managed to put up a score of 15 runs when Inniss was caught by Sadiki Nurse of the bowling of Rio Armstrong in the fifth over, then three balls later, Gittens was caught by Hinds off Rashoun Archer’s bowling, the score still on 15. Two balls later, Archer and Hinds paired up again when Shawinico Sargeant was returned to the pavilion without having an impact on the score. Windward captain, Lamar Springer would take the next wicket when Jealaen Yearwood was caught by Elon Davis, the score having moved on to 36/4. Nurse then took the wickets of Anderson and Liam Sealy, with the scoreboard showing 65/6 with 3 overs remaining. Kai Rollins claimed the final wicket of the innings near the end of the final over, the school boys managing just 80/7 in their 20 overs at bat. Nurse and Archer had figures of 1 Maiden, 6 runs and 2 wickets from their 4 overs, while Armstrong was 15/1 in 4 overs.
