The 'evergreen' Winston Chase took 2 wickets for 17 runs in his 7 overs with the ball on Saturday against Pickwick.

The Sagicor Life backed Windward Masters Cricket Team, played host to Zone leaders, Pickwick on Saturday. Winning the toss, captain Alan Branch elected to put the visitors into bat first, and Michael Matthews and Winston Warren took to the pitch, while Andre Archer, still nursing a swollen shin when he took a drive off of Dale Richards last weekend, opened the bowling for the homeside. Warren's wicket fell in the 6th over, when he was caught by Archer off the bowling of Winston Chase, with him on 13 runs. George Reifer joined Matthews at centre briefly, losing his wicket when he was caught by Patrick Joseph off the bowling of Chase two overs later, having just made 1 run and the score on 29/2. Matthews was run out shortly after, having made 29, and the score now on 48/3. Archer took his first wicket of the match when Charlie Thornton caught Corey Yearwood behind, still trying to get off the mark in the 11th over. Ryan Archer and Dave Lovell also struggled to make runs, with Archer being caught and bowled by Richard Cox on 9, and Lovell caught and bowled by Geoffrey Mapp having made 1 run, and the score now 63/6 with 16 overs gone. The remaining 9 overs saw Joseph Harris and Rondell Yearwood punish the bowling of Cox and Mapp, taking the score to 138 in the 9 remaining overs, with Harris ending on 50 not out and Yearwood on 28. After tea, Alan Branch and Tony Edgehill opened the batting for the Lucas Street team, with Edgehill losing his wicket in the 5th over when he was caught by R.Yearwood off the bowling of Dave Lovell having made 6 runs. Archer took his turn at the crease with Branch, but the partnership ended two overs later when Archer was bowled by Lovell with just one run to his name. Branch's wicket followed in the next over when he was caught having made 8 runs in the 8 overs he faced. The WCC batting continued to struggle, with Joseph making 2, and Lythcott 12. Geoffrey Mapp ended the day on 31 not out and Thornton managed 14 in the 5 overs he faced. Windward made 85/5 in their 25 overs. Their final match is against Melrose Cricket Club at Bridgefield St. Thomas on Sunday March 8th.
