Windward Cricket Club's Intermediate team faced IDL Walkers Sand Quarry Isolation Cavaliers at the Foursquare Oval on the first day of the three day semi-final match. Winning the toss under sunny skies, Captain Sean Thornton opted to field first, hoping to take advantage of the very dry pitch being favourable to his teams spin bowling as the day progressed. Opening for the St. Andrew team were the pair of Khalil Herbert and Kevin Greene, who set the pace for what would be a slow and determined day at bat by the Cavaliers. Herbert's wicket was first to fall with him on 13 runs from 33 balls, when medium pacer Jewaun 'Jew Jew' Cumberbatch took the first of his three wickets on the day, also claiming those of Greene (39), and Levi Cadogan (0) as well as catching Jamal Morris for 13 runs off he bowling of Thornton. The WCC Captain took an additional 3 wickets on the day for 54 runs, the first of which was that of Captain Jermaine Bullen who was caught by Ryan Wiggins when he was on 81 runs, and Jeremy Bowen caught by Shae Branch for 10 runs. Shae Branch also got in on the wicket taking action, when he won a Leg Before Wicket decision, dismissing Jahbari Doughlin for 8 and taking another before umpires ended the day due to fading light, ending the day with bowling stats of 2/40. After four and half hours of play, Isolation Cavaliers had amassed a score of 203/9 in 57 overs, meaning that the Sagicor Life supported Windward team will start day two, Sunday December 1st, with three overs remaining before they can take to the pitch for their turn at bat.
