Intermediate take 1st Innings Lead in Quarter Final

Amari Wiggins lead the Windward bowling attack with 4 wickets for 14 runs from 10 overs against Diamondshire.

Windward's Intermediate side took first innings lead in the quarter final match against Diamondshire on Saturday, with Amari Wiggins leading the bowling attack with 4 wickets for 14 runs from 10 overs. Winning the toss under sunny skies, skipper Alan Branch elected to bowl first, and the Lucas Street Lads quickly set about putting the visitors on the back foot, with Jonathan Griffith taking the first wicket in the third over with a single run being scored. Wiggins struck next, taking the wicket of K. Gibbons in the 8th over, who was caught by Jafari Wiggins in slips, the score now on 15. Diamondshire wickets continued to tumble, with Griffith taking one more before Rashoun Archer took 2 and Ronaldo Callender taking the final wicket before tea, dismissing the visitors for 78 all out. The guys of the green and gold started their innings with confidence, but this was quickly shaken, when opening batsman Kastun Stoute surrendered his wicket in the opening over with 2 runs on the board. Jafari Toppin fared no better, when he was bowled by M. Griffith in the 3rd over, having just 2 runs to his name, the scoreboard reading 13 runs for 2 wickets. Naje Bishop joined opener Alan Branch in the middle and the pair managed to settle in and put some runs on the board, with Bishop having 65 runs from the 50 balls he faced, when he was bowled by K. Clarke around the 20th over. Windward had amassed a score of 140/5 when play ended at 5:30 in the evening. The match resumes on the 26th of November with Branch on 44 not out and Ronaldo Callender with 1 not out.
