Intermediate Start Well Against St. Catherine.


Jafari Toppin made 104 n.o in the first Innings against St. Catherine.

Windward's Intermediate side started their penultimate regular season match when they travelled to Bayfield to face St. Catherine. Invited to bat by St. Catherine on a slow wicket and damp outfield, Windward managed 63/0 after 10 overs, with Katsun Stoute having 48 not out, but would lose his wicket shortly after, ending the day with 49. By tea, the Lucas Street Lads had taken the score to 148/3 with Jafari Toppin taking up the charge and adding 51 to the score, he would end the day with 104 not out from 58 balls, hitting ten 6's and four 4's. Also contributing to the score were; Latrell Greenidge with 38, skipper Alan Branch with 21 and Naje Bishop with 12. The Sagicor supported side then took to the field and limited the home side to 41/6, with Amari Wiggins taking 4/14 and Jonathan Griffith 2/25, when bad light stopped play. The match resumes on Saturday at 1:00pm at Bayfield with St. Catherine continuing their first innings.
