Jafari Toppin made 168 against Carlton Sports Club on Saturday.

Windward's Intermediate side had resounding wins over the weekend, first against Carlton Club on Saturday, then on Sunday against Wanderers. Playing host on both days, Windward lost the toss to Carlton and were put into bat first, with Naje Bishop and Jafari Toppin opening the batting for the Green & Gold, and the pair running up a total of 53 in 4 overs when Bishop was dismissed Leg Before Wicket having made 12 runs from 6 balls and bringing Sean Thornton to join Toppin in the middle. Thornton was returned to the pavilion when he was stumped in the 7th over, having faced 6 balls and managing 3 singles, with the score now at 78/2, and bringing Latrell "Buffy" Greenidge into bat. Toppin put on a batting display hitting 9 fours and 18 sixes on his way to making 168 from 61 balls on the day and the Lucas Street lads ended their innings having amassed 248/5 at the break. When play resumed 30mins later, Winston Chase was given the task of opening the bowling, and he took 2 wickets for 7 runs in the first over, then struck again in the 5th over, taking 2 more wickets with the score at 23/4. Chase ended his spell having taken 5 wickets for 15 runs in his 4 overs with the ball, and earning the respect and admiration of all present. Rashoun Archer also had respectable numbers with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 9 runs in 1.5 overs, helping the Sagicor supported side dismiss Carlton for 41 all out in 9.5 overs, winning the match by 207 runs.

Sunday saw long time rivals, Wanderers Cricket Club, being hosted at the Lucas Street ground, with Windward winning the toss and opting to bat first. Opening the batting for the Sagicor supported side were Latrell "Buffy" Greenidge and Jafari Toppin, who quickly got to work putting runs on the board, having made 80 by the end of the 6th over. When Toppin was dismissed in the 14th over, he had hit five 4's and six 6's, on his way to a score of 80 runs and an opening partnership of more than 150 runs. Greenidge was eventually caught out in the 16th over having hit four 4's and five 6's and with a total of 71 runs to his credit. Vice Captain Shakeem Blades managed another impressive knock of 27 not out from the 13 balls he faced, having made 31 off of 8 balls the day before. The Lucas Street lads ended the innings with 203 runs for 3 wickets in their 20 overs. Opening the bowling for Windward was fast bowler, Jonathan Griffith, who gave up 5 runs in the first over, and took a wicket in his second, ending the day with 31/1 in 3 overs. The evergreen Winston Chase, coming off a 5 wicket haul the day before, continued to confuse the batsmen with his spin bowling, allowing 1 run and taking 1 wicket in his first over with the ball, and ending the day with 1 wicket for 11 runs from 4 overs. New comers to the green and gold, Naje Bishop and Rashoun Archer, also did well with the ball, getting 1 wicket for 9 runs in 2 overs and 2 wickets for 12 runs in 2 overs respectively. Wanderers managed 147 for 8 in their 20 overs, giving the win to Windward by 56 runs.
