All good things must come to an end. This was true of Windward's Intermediate cricket team's undefeated streak which officially ended on Saturday December 7th at 4:50pm when they were unable to bowl out IDL Walkers Sand Quarry Isolation Cavaliers during their second innings of the semi-final match. The day started off on the right foot, with Shae Branch claiming the wicket of Kevin Greene in the second over with just six runs on the board, which was followed just three overs later when Jewaun Cumberbatch bowled Khalil Herbert out with the score on 19, then one ball later Branch took his second wicket of the day when Ryan Wiggins caught Levi Cadagon at the slips position. The St. Andrew team's opening order had been returned to the clubhouse for a paltry 19/3, and the hopes of the Sagicor backed Windward Cricket Club could not have been higher when Isolation's captain, Jermaine Bullen took to the crease. Partnered with Jamal Morris, the pair added a further 71 runs to the score in 26 overs before Branch took Bullen's wicket when he was caught behind by Windwards wicket keeper, Alan Branch. Now with the score at 91/4, Jeremy Bowen took his place at bat, and added a further 24 runs to the score with Morris, when he too was caught behind by Alan Branch off the bowling of Shae Branch with the score at 114/5, followed by the dismissal of Jahbari Douglin on the very next ball, again thanks to the duo of Branch and Branch. 114/6 with 38 overs gone, to remove the remaining batsman without them scoring many runs in the short time needed was a tall order, too tall infact, as WCC was unable to take another wicket until Morris was run out by Cumberbatch, with the score now on 156/7 and the sun starting to get low in the sky. Isolation ended the day victorious on 217/7 and will play the in the finals against North Stars at Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute ground in the Pine, St. Michael.
